It’s back! The Colchester Chilli Challenge returns to Colchester Market, on Saturday 23rd February 2019.
Starting at 11am and inviting competitors aged 18+, the Colchester Chilli Challenge sees those willing to take on the competition eat through a series of HOT dishes. The dishes, freshly prepared by Mex Appeal and Peck from Colchester Market, will put competitors through their paces in this fiery eating challenge.
Entry costs £10 per person and competitors can register on the day. Every competitor will receive a free Colchester Chilli Challenge t-shirt by @cultzeros, and there’ll be a Beer Me Now hamper for the chilli champion on the day. Trophies made by Tom White, of Sculpted Forest, will also be given to the winner and two runners-up.
Cllr Martin Goss, Portfolio Holder for Waste, Environment & Transportation, said: “Our market has a thriving food scene, with an excellent choice of dishes from all over the world.
“We want to attract visitors and residents to our market, which is why we put on a variety of events throughout the year. The market is a great place to pick up unique gifts and enjoy a great variety of foods.”
