The Luxury Travel Guide (LTG) has selected Colchester Events Company’s highly skilled and dedicated Weddings team to win the coveted ‘Wedding Specialists of the Year’ award.

The LTG awards identify the best wedding destinations, hotels, spas, golf clubs, travel agencies, lifestyle companies, and many more – with the focus on innovation, design, rooms & facilities, gastronomic achievements, service excellence, use of technology, sustainable development, marketing & branding, employee satisfaction and location.

This award is the latest in a series of successes since the running of the council’s wedding venues was taken over by Colchester Events Company in 2016 and follows its recent achievement in reaching the finals of the 2018 and 2019 Essex Wedding Awards.

The beautiful Town Hall lies at the heart of the Events Company’s weddings operation and offers four grand, romantic rooms for wedding ceremonies. Couples can hire a space for any ceremony, from the vast Moot Hall with its high-arched ceiling to the ornate, churchlike Council Chamber and the traditional Mayoral Suite. Not forgetting Castle Park, Colchester Castle and Charter Hall, boasting their own unique features, enabling the team to host weddings of all sizes and styles every year.

All the venues are managed by Colchester Events Company, which is on hand to help with every detail of the big day, from music and flowers to legalities and timings.

Cllr Theresa Higgins, Colchester Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Commercial Services, said: “I am delighted to hear that the Colchester Events Company has won such a prestigious and well-deserved accolade. This is a credit to our beautiful venues, the attractive town centre that surrounds them and the team who put such hard work into ensuring that every wedding is always a special, memorable day.”
