Following its popularity, Colchester Borough Council is continuing its £2 after 2pm parking offer at its St Mary’s and award-winning Priory Street car parks.
Drivers can park for just £2 flat rate if they arrive after 2pm, allowing them to park during the afternoon, evening and overnight until 6am, Monday to Friday. The offer is only available when drivers pay for their parking through the MiPermit cashless app, text or phone.
Drivers who have not used MiPermit before are encouraged to complete the quick, free set-up of a secure account at home before they visit. The app can be downloaded here with other payment options including the online portal, text or phone call.
By using the MiPermit App drivers have the added benefit of not having to cut a trip short as they can extend their parking without going back to the car and will receive and the App will work out the best value tariff for the whole of your stay. The easy-to-use system can also give optional reminders of when parking stays are about to expire and provides a map to help guide users unfamiliar with the area to where their car is parked.
Councillor Mike Lilley, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Communities, Wellbeing and Public Safety, said: “St Mary’s and Priory Street are both great car parks, in ideal locations for those who visit, shop and dine out in the town centre.
“MiPermit is available in all our car parks and provides drivers with a number of benefits including access to parking deals such as this £2 offer, which is great value parking.”
