Spring has sprung and with Easter just around the corner there are plenty of family fun events taking place in High Woods Country Park this month.
The fun kicks off on Wednesday 17 April with Easter Egg Rolling from 10am-12pm. Suitable for ages 5+, children can enjoy Easter-themed games, creating their own Easter egg and obstacle course, and racing their egg downhill. The activity costs £4.40 per child.
Over the Easter weekend itself, on the Saturday, Sunday and Monday (20-22 April), there’s a self-guided Easter Trail everyone can enjoy. Simply drop-in to the Visitor Centre anytime between 11am and 3pm and pick up a map for £1 and follow the fun Easter trail around the park – there may even be a sweet treat at the end!
For those who are keen to enjoy the fresh air and learn something new, on 28 April, a Fishing for Beginners event is being held. This practical course will teach beginners the basics of water safety, equipment, bait types and fish species, and is suitable for adults and children ages 7+. Booking for this event is essential and costs £6 per person. Equipment can be borrowed, if requested in advance.
Tickets for bookable events can only be purchased through the Visitor Information Centre in Hollytrees Museum, in person at Hollytrees Museum, Castle Park, CO1 1UG or by telephone on 01206 282920. Purchases cannot be made at the events.
High Woods Country Park Visitor Centre is open at weekdays and weekends. Weekdays: 10am - 4.30pm; Weekends: 10.30am - 5pm, until the autumn.
