Colchester City Council is holding a programme of pop-up events across the city, offering a ‘one stop shop’ where residents can get information, guidance and support to help with the cost of living crisis.
The council's Employment and Financial and Communities teams will be offering advice on:
Bringing down your household bills
Checking you’re receiving all the benefits and discounts you are entitled to
Advice about employment and training
Managing any worries about debt
Ensuring you can access food
Advice on how to stay warm this winter
Latest information to help keep your business healthy
New Town activity day, Saw Mill Road: Fri 17 February, 10am-2pm
Councillor Harris drop in surgery, 5th Colchester Scouts Hut, Monkwick: Wed 22 Feb, 2-4pm
Tiptree Library: Thurs 23 Feb, 2-5pm
Residents can view the full programme for February and March events here. New locations are added as they are confirmed.
Cllr David King, Leader of Colchester City Council, said: “The increased cost of living is continuing to affect everyone. We are here to support you as much as we can and have put together a one stop shop package of support that can make a great difference. You are not alone. Hundreds have been helped and I would encourage everyone to go along to a pop-up event. To see what small changes they could make or to get advice on the help and support that can make a big difference. You will get a listening ear and a warm welcome.”
