Winner of the council’s Share Your Rainbow competition revealed

PUBLISHED: 23 June 2020

Date issued: 23 June 2020

Residents were asked to share photos of their colourful and creative rainbow creations, which showed support to the borough and nation’s key workers. We received some fantastic entries including paintings, collages and knitted rainbows.

Selected by the Leader of the Council, Cllr Mark Cory, the winning entry is by the Amey family, who produced a fantastic window display by adding a little piece to it each day, over several weeks, as part of their 'lockdown laughter' activities.

The family will be awarded a family pass to visit Colchester Castle, a family swim pass at Leisure World Colchester and will feature on the council’s social media pages as a cover photo.

Cllr Mark Cory, Leader of Colchester Borough Council, said: “Congratulations to the Amey family on winning the competition and a huge thank you to everyone who shared their rainbows.”

“It's very inspiring to see how many residents wanted to thank our amazing key workers and NHS. The borough has been amazing in showing their support over the past few months.
