Colchester Borough Council and its strategic partners collectively branded One Colchester have pulled together during this extremely worrying and unprecedented time, to respond to public demand.
One Colchester consists of the council, the voluntary sector, the Police, Health, Education and Business communities plus many more. All have committed to closer collaborations in support of their local communities.
As a result, a comprehensive information pack for residents has been produced to guide residents through the continuing COVID-19 crisis.
The easy to read digital guide contains useful links, advice and guidance on all aspects of life that COVID-19 touches on. From community resources, local Facebook support groups, social distancing guidance plus wellbeing and mental health support and much more.
Community groups across the Borough are rallying together and organisations such as Community 360 are already pulling together a volunteer response as are many other groups.
The guide is now available to download on the councils dedicated webpage and will be updated regularly as new information becomes available. Residents will be updated through the council’s social media channels when new updates are available. Please visit www.colchester.gov.uk/coronavirus
Councillor Mike Lilley, Portfolio Holder for Communities, Wellbeing and Public Safety, said: “We are all living through an unprecedented and emotional time and it is only natural for people to have questions and concerns. We hope the publication of this COVID-19 information pack will help provide advice and guidance to those across the borough that need it.
“We have a wonderful support network of organisations across the borough, who I know are always looking for more volunteers, so I would urge anyone who is able to help to consider this. We all need to pull together in times of a crisis, and I am proud to be part of a community that is doing just that.”
