Vineyard Street Car Park reduced on 5 February

Date issued: 30 January 2020

Due to resurfacing works, car parking spaces in Colchester Borough Council’s Vineyard Street car park will be significantly reduced on Wednesday 5 February 2020.

The car park will remain open on this day and shoppers, visitors and workers in Colchester on this date can take advantage of the great value parking available at other nearby car parks, such as Britannia, Priory Street and St John’s if Vineyard Street car park is full.

Four hours parking after 9.30am for only £2.50 is also available in Britannia car park and the £2 after 2pm offer in Priory Street will also be available to those paying via MiPermit. Those staying longer can take advantage of all-day parking in St John’s car park for only £3.50.

Temporary signage will advise motorists of the works and alternative parking locations.

Councillor Mike Lilley, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Communities, Wellbeing and Public Safety, said: “We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but the part-closure is necessary to allow the resurfacing works to be completed quickly and safely. The car park will remain open and we will be opening more spaces throughout the day as stages are completed which will help to minimise disruption.

“Motorists will still be able to take advantage of the great value parking on offer here and at our other car parks across the town.”
