Security to continue at St Botolph’s Priory

PUBLISHED: 16 September 2019

Following an early analysis of the results of the public consultation about St Botolph’s Priory, Colchester Borough Council will continue the security presence at the site throughout October.

Funded by the Better Colchester campaign, the extension of the security at St Botolph’s Priory will be welcomed and will make the priory more accessible.

Councillor Michael Lilley, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Communities, Wellbeing and Public Safety, said: “We have taken early action to listen to what people have told us and I am happy that we can continue the security presence throughout October. St Botolph’s Priory is an amazing asset to our town and it should be enjoyed fully, by everyone”.

“We are going to work with partners and businesses to seek to continue this provision in the future”.

The recent public consultation is going to be complemented by further engagement at the upcoming St Botolph’s Open Day and Market on Saturday 21 September, after which the full results will be evaluated and shared.
