Explore the beautiful St Botolph’s Priory in a free Open Day and Market on Saturday 21 September, 10am-5pm, as part of Colchester’s Heritage Open Days programme 2019.

There will be lots to do for everyone, from fun children’s activities, to exploring Colchester Market stalls, meeting historical characters, street food, performances, music from Colne Radio and much more.

Visitors will also have chance to talk to members of the Town Centre Action Plan (TCAP) team, who work together to crack down on anti-social behaviour in the town centre, including Colchester Borough Council's Communities team, Essex Police and Colchester Borough Homes.

Councillor Michael Lilley, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Communities, Wellbeing and Public Safety, said: “This is a great opportunity to provide a day’s free entertainment, showcase our beautiful Priory and give an insight into the fantastic work the Town Centre Action Plan team are doing to make a safer and better Colchester.”

Parking is available at Britannia Car Park, right next to St Botoph’s Priory, where you can park for 4 hours (Monday to Saturday) for £2.50 – just press the yellow button on the machine, before putting any coins in, to select this special offer rate. Alternative parking is also available nearby at the award-winning Priory Street Car Park.

This Open Day and Market is set in the stunning surroundings of the Priory, entrances off Queen Street, St Botolph’s Street and Priory Street in Colchester, this is a day not to be missed. Find out more at colchester.gov.uk/stbotolphs
