Vineyard Street Car Park reduced on 11 September

Due to resurfacing works, car parking spaces in Colchester Borough Council’s Vineyard Street car park will be halved on 11 September.

The car park will remain open on this his day and shoppers, visitors and workers in Colchester on this date can take advantage of the great value parking available at other nearby car parks, such as BritanniaPriory Street and St John’s if Vineyard Street car park is full.

Four hours parking after 9.30am for only £2.50 is also available in Britannia car park and the £2 after 2pm offer in Priory Street will also be available to those paying via MiPermit. Those staying longer can take advantage of all-day parking in St John’s car park for only £3.50.

Temporary signage will advise motorists of the works and alternative parking locations.

Councillor Mike Lilley, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Communities, Wellbeing and Public Safety, said:  "We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause, but the part-closure is necessary to allow the resurfacing works to be completed quickly and safely.

“The car park will remain open and keeping the works to one half of the car park on just one day will help to minimise disruption.

“Parkers will still be able to take advantage of the great value parking on offer here and at our other car parks across the town.”
