Summer Screen returns to Colchester’s Castle Park this July!

Colchester Events Company is delighted to announce the schedule for the popular Summer Screen event, returning to Colchester’s Upper Castle Park from 1-14 July 2019.

Six hit movies will be shown across Thursday 4 to Sunday 7 July. Wimbledon fortnight will also be live-streamed during the day, taking a break only to make way for the film screenings.

Kicking off with ‘T-Bird Thursday’, singalong classic Grease will be showing on Thursday evening, followed by recent award-winning hit A Star is Born on Friday evening.

Journey into the magical, on Saturday afternoon, and take advantage of the brand new ‘Saturday Saver’ ticket with a back-to-back showing of both Fantastic Beasts movies for one bargain price! Then get ready to rock on Saturday evening, as electrifying box office hit Bohemian Rhapsody struts onto the big screen.

Finish off your weekend with ‘Superhero Sunday’ and enjoy family favourite The Incredibles, showing on Sunday morning.

Cllr Nick Barlow, Colchester Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Commercial Services, said: “Summer Screen in Castle Park has become a hugely popular feature of Colchester's annual event calendar and one that many people look forward to. It's the perfect way to bring the people of Colchester together to relax and enjoy films within the beautiful and historic setting of Castle Park.”

There will be food and drink available from Café in the Park during the films, plus a fully stocked on-site bar, selling snacks and ice creams.

Movie-goers are permitted to bring food and alcohol, but alcohol can only be consumed within the Summer Screen arena.

Tickets will be available for Summer Screen from Tuesday 30 April at 10am and can be purchased online at www.colchester-events.co.uk/summerscreen, in person at the Mercury Theatre, or by telephone on 01206 573948.
