Colchester Castle is offering a unique chance to be part of its new exhibition Adorn: Jewellery, the Human Story, which opens on the 27 July 2019.

The new exhibition will showcase exquisite jewellery and objects of personal adornment throughout history. Focusing on objects from the Essex region and the people who made and wore them, the exhibition begins in the Bronze age and with the public’s help Colchester Castle would like to bring it right up to the present day.

Do you have an incredible story to tell? Do you have a knockout piece of jewellery that has great personal meaning to you? Have you had an item of jewellery that has been in your family for generations? Do you have a tattoo with a unique tale behind it? What do you think personal adornment means today? How do you express your personality through jewellery?

Whatever it is, the team at Colchester Castle would love to hear from you!

If you or someone you know is willing to talk to the team we first ask that you head to the Colchester Museums website and register your interest at https://cimuseums.org.uk/adorncallout/ where you will be asked to upload an image and some supporting information.

If successful, you and your unique story and object could feature in the Castle’s new exciting exhibition.

Colchester Museums are also looking for volunteers to contribute to Adorn. Are you someone who could spare some time? Volunteering with Colchester Museums offers a great opportunity for anyone with a keen interest in the arts or museums, engaging with people of all ages or looking for valuable experience for the future.

All volunteers will have unparalleled access to the Adorn displays, whilst making a real contribution to exhibition.
