Join Visit Colchester and start your very own #ColchesterRomanInvasion, on Tuesday 19 March, at Liverpool Street station, London.

Taking place from 7am – 7pm on the station concourse, Visit Colchester will be meeting members of the public, to promote Colchester as a tourism destination. The event will be anchored with a pop-up visitor information centre at the very heart of the concourse, manned by friendly Visit Colchester staff.

Creating visual impact and wow, Roman Centurions will be invading the station concourse with giveaways and information about Colchester, as well as advertising on the Colchester feeding ticket gates, completing the Roman Invasion campaign.

Joined by partners Colchester Castle, famous jam makers Wilkin & Sons of Tiptree, Firstsite, Colchester Zoo and Roman Circus, it promises to be a great day.

Visit Colchester would like to encourage the public to get involved, using the hashtag #ColchesterRomanInvasion, and embrace finding out more information about Essex’s very own famous town.

Cllr Tim Young, Portfolio Holder for Business and Culture and Deputy Leader of Colchester Borough Council said: “This event aims to capitalise and build on the momentum and ambition of Visit Colchester’s recent successive tourism campaigns and Colchester’s first ever television advert, by putting Colchester firmly on the tourism map.

“This year why not start your very own #ColchesterRomanInvasion and discover what Colchester can offer.”
