Join Colchester Museums for a fun-filled half term

PUBLISHED: 11 February 2019

Date issued: 11 February 2019

Next week is half term, and parents and carers across the Borough will be looking for ideas to keep the children occupied. There’s no need to fear, as Colchester Museums have plenty of fun and inspiring activities to keep the whole family occupied.

With events taking place across all three sites, there is something for everyone. Colchester Castle will be heading back in time with medieval archery sessions – perfect for that budding archer. Get sticky with glue, glitter and paper and create your own fabulous greeting card for any occasion, at Hollytrees Museum, or get up close with a very special animal encounter at the town’s Natural History Museum.

But hurry, as spaces are now limited. Call 01206 282941, to secure your space today.

Cllr Tim Young, Portfolio Holder for Business and Culture and Deputy Leader of the Council, said: “Colchester Museums have organised a great programme of events for the first holiday of the year. As always, there is a great balance of learning about life in the past, with plenty of fun and play in the here and now.”

For those who live in the Borough, ensure you ask about Colchester Castle’s Resident Pass, which enables you to visit the Castle as many times as you like during a year after paying entry just once. Perfect for filling the many school holidays still to come in 2019!”
