Visit Colchester has launched its new 2019 Colchester Visitor and Mini Guides. The comprehensive 44 page Visitor Guide and Discover DL Mini Guide provide a snapshot of what Colchester has to offer potential visitors to the Borough and will assist them during their stay. In addition, a new one page insert to the Discover Guide, features detailed information about the popular Guided Walking Tours programme run from the Visitor Information Centre.

The new tourism campaign, The Beautiful Borough of Colchester, launched in December, features heavily in both guides encouraging visitors to Colchester to head further afield into the borough after visiting the town centre. The new guides highlights tourism opportunities in the following areas: Colchester Town Centre; Dedham; Mersea; Roman River; Chappel; Tiptree, and Wivenhoe.

Visit Colchester continues to ask visitors to engage with the friendly Visitor Information Centre team (based at Hollytrees Museum) in person, online and via social media to find out more about these areas and, when they have discovered their favourite place to head to the Visit Colchester website and download a bespoke wallpaper for their phones and tablets featuring their favourite area!

Cllr Tim Young, Portfolio Holder for Business and Culture and Deputy Leader of Colchester Borough Council, said: “Colchester has so much to offer tourists – from the town centre, to our stunning coast and countryside. These new resources can be collected free of charge from the Visitor Information Centre, based at Hollytrees Museum, or ordered online via the Visit Colchester website.

“The team has listened to feedback throughout the year and made improvements to this year’s guides, such as a larger, easier-to-read map and more information about our popular guided walking tours. We hope everyone enjoys them and we look forward to welcoming new visitors to the town in 2019.”

Visit Colchester expects the trend of consistently high levels of enquiries from visitors interacting with the friendly team at the Visitor Information Centre to continue and looks forward to welcoming visitors in 2019.
