Safeguarding Children and Vulnerable Persons - Mandatory Safeguarding Training

The Council's Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy requires drivers and operators to complete mandatory safeguarding training. This training will address a variety of safeguarding concerns including child sexual exploitation, gangs and trafficking.

The course will be held at the offices of Colchester Borough Council, Rowan House,33 Sheepen Road, Colchester, CO3 3WG.  Please ensure you arrive a little in advance of your booked time slot to ensure we are able to start the session promptly.  The session will last approximately 2 hours.  Please note that there is No parking available at Rowan House.

If for any reason you are not able to attend the session you booked, you must notify us immediately at licensing.team@colchester.gov.uk to arrange another date.  Any changes to the session booked, without at least 24 hours notice, will incur a £10.50 administration fee.

Please be aware that you must attend one of the sessions. Applicants who have not completed the training will not be granted their licence and existing licence holders who do not complete the training within the required timescale will be suspended unless they can prove exceptional circumstances prevented them from complying.
