The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) appreciate that some businesses may find their duty to comply with health and safety law quite a daunting task. As such they have set up an online step by step guide to assist businesses with meeting basic  requirements. 

The HSE online guide provides advice as well as downloadable leaflets and templates on risk assessments, health and safety policies, accident reporting, staff training, etc.

Alternatively you may wish to employ a health and safety consultant.  We recommend you choose someone from the Occupational Safety and Health Consultants Register (OSHCR)

Colchester Borough Council offers the CIEH Level 2 Award in Health and Safety in the Workplace certificate course.  Please contact us for further information.
