  • How the relocation scheme could help you

The Council operates a relocation scheme for new employees who, as a direct result of their appointment, need to move from their current place of residence in order to satisfactorily perform the responsibilities of their new role.

To be eligible for this benefit, you need to currently live more than 72.42 kilometres (45 miles) from your new place of work or office base such as Rowan House.  Relocation expenses must be claimed within 18 months of the sale of your property or the start of your contract with the Council.

There are also guidelines around the scope of the financial assistance that we can provide and these are set out in full in the Council's Relocation Scheme.
