Overview

 

On Thursday 6 May 2021 there will be a combination of local elections across Colchester.

 

This will include the two postponed elections from May 2020: the Borough election; and the Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner election.

These elections will run alongside the scheduled Essex County election. Some areas may also have parish elections, if they are contested.

Notices pertinent to each election will appear here in due course, in accordance with the timetable.

 

Poll cards will be dispatched in early April.

Thursday 8 April 2021 4.00pm Candidate Nomination deadline
Monday 19 April 2021 Midnight Registration to Vote deadline
Tuesday 20 April 2021 5.00pm Postal Vote deadline
Tuesday 27 April 2021 5.00pm Last day to apply for a proxy vote
Thursday 6 May 2021 Polling Day

Candidate Information

 

Anyone interested in standing as a candidate for any election within Colchester is encouraged to register their interest by emailing elections@colchester.gov.uk. This will allow us to notify you of any candidate briefing sessions, which will likely be conducted via an online video meeting.

To apply for a postal vote or proxy vote complete the relevant form and email it to us at elections@colchester.gov.uk
