Traffic Regulation Order Proposal for Colchester High Street

The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) (Amendment Number 14) Order 202*

Notice is hereby given Colchester Borough Council acting on behalf of the North Essex Parking Partnership in exercise of the delegated powers of the traffic authority Essex County Council granted under an Agreement dated 31 March 2011 proposes to make the above Order under Sections 1(1), 2(1) to (3), 4 (1), 4(2), 32, 35,45,46,49 and 53 and Parts III and IV of Schedule 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

Statement of Reasons

It is proposed to swop the location of a disabled badge holder and goods vehicle loading bay towards the east end of the High Street near St Nicholas House. This follows a change of use of St Nicholas House and will allow easier loading and unload of both goods and customers to the St Nicholas House hotel.

The effect of the Order 

To replace the goods vehicles loading bay on the south side of High Street, Colchester, outside Nos. 52 to 58, with ‘Disabled badge holders only Mon to Sat 8am to 6pm Maximum Stay 3 Hours’ and to replace the disabled badge holders parking place on the south side of High Street, Colchester, outside St Nicholas House, with ‘Loading only 8am – 6pm’ in the Borough of Colchester.

This Order will be incorporated into The Essex County Council (Colchester Borough) (Prohibition of Waiting, Loading and Stopping) and (On-Street Parking Places) (Civil Enforcement Area) Consolidation Order 2019 by replacing tile number TL995 250 with revision 1.
