It seeks views on whether and how legislative reforms might ensure that, in future, where it is appropriate for a development corporation to be used, a fit-for-purpose model exists. Development corporations can be used for delivering large-scale development, including mixed-use regeneration, transformational urban extensions and new settlements.

This consultation from the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government runs from 26 October to 21 December 2019.

MHCLG also issued New development corporation competition: guidance (information on how applicants can bid for resource funding), and Next generation of new towns and economic growth opportunities to be developed (news release).
