Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Strategy Consultation
Colchester Council are required to have a Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Strategy under the Homelessness Act 2002. Its aim is to prevent and reduce homelessness by tackling root causes, providing advice and support to help people stay in their homes, offering emergency accommodation and improving access to affordable housing.
The current strategy (2020–2025) is ending, so we’re creating a new one for 2026–2031. After speaking to local organisations, we’ve drafted our key aims for Colchester.
