Equality Impact Assessments

An equality impact assessment (EqIA) is an evidence-based way for organisations such as Colchester Borough Council to ensure that their policies, practices and decision-making processes are fair and do not disadvantage or present barriers to participation to any protected groups.

These assessments cover areas including zone teams, parks and recreation, community initiatives and development, crime and disorder, activity centres, museums, arts and culture, equality and safeguarding.
