Notice of election for Colchester City Councillor for New Town and Christ Church Ward

1. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Town Hall, High Street, Colchester CO1 1PJ on any working day, Monday to Friday, from the date of this notice between 10 am and 4 pm, but no later than 4 pm on Friday 26 September 2025
2. Nomination papers may be obtained from the offices of the Returning Officer, Town Hall, High Street, Colchester CO1 1PJ, during the times stated above. Nomination forms are also available online.
3. If the election is contested, the poll will take place on Thursday 23 October 2025.
4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by midnight on Tuesday 7 October. Applications to vote can be made online.
5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5 pm on Wednesday 8 October. More information about voting by post is available online.
6.  Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document valid for this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5 pm on Wednesday 15 October. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate or an Anonymous Elector’s Document can be made online.
7. Applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Wednesday 15 October.
8. Applications to vote by emergency proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 5pm on Thursday 23 October.

Paper applications can be submitted in one of the following ways:

• By post to Rowan House, 33 Sheepen Road, Colchester CO3 3WG.
• By hand delivery to Colchester Town Hall, High Street, Colchester CO1 1PJ.
• Via email to elections@colchester.gov.uk
