Bikeability level 3

Bikeability is a cycle training programme which provides practical skills and understanding of how to cycle on today’s roads. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned cyclist, Bikeability provides the opportunity to learn new skills, improve knowledge and build your confidence.

Essex County Council are currently offering Bikeability level 3, as well as other sessions such as adult confidence and family training, for just £10 per session up until March 2021.

If you are interested in trialing an electric cargo bike, then we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this time limited offer and book your one to one Bikeability level 3 training now.

How to book

To book, email saferessexroads@essexhighways.org and let them know that you would like to be part of the Colchester eCargo bike project.

If you are interested in any of the other Bikeability courses for your friends and family you can write to the same email address to book.

What to expect from Bikeability level 3

Depending on your current level of cycling experience you are looking at a time commitment of:
  • 2 hours for an experienced cyclist who is confident cycling on most roads
  • 4 hours for a cyclist with some experience and confidence cycling on quiet roads
  • 6 hours (2 sessions) for someone who can cycle but lacks confidence to cycle on the road
You will need your own bike and helmet.
