Adult advanced cycle training

Adult advanced cycle training is offered as part of a range of training sessions by Essex County Council. The training is a one to one session that will enable you to improve your knowledge and confidence of cycling on today's roads. It is suitable for all cyclists, regardless of your level of experience. 

Essex County Council are currently offering adult advanced cycling and other sessions such as adult confidence and family training for free.  
 
If you are interested in trialling an electric cargo bike, then we strongly encourage you to take advantage of this time limited offer and book your one to one adult advanced cycle training now.

You can select a date and location that suits you. You can also use the same form if you or your friends and family are interested in any of the other Adult Cycle Training courses.

What to expect from adult advanced cycling

Depending on your current level of cycling experience you are looking at a time commitment of:
  • 2 hours for an experienced cyclist who is confident cycling on most roads
  • 4 hours for a cyclist with some experience and confidence cycling on quiet roads
  • 6 hours (2 sessions) for someone who can cycle but lacks confidence to cycle on the road

What you will need to bring

  • your own bike
  • a helmet
