Business Support Grants

Businesses in rated premises required to close

Businesses required to close during national restrictions are eligible for the main government business support grants.

We have created one application form which will be used to assess your business for all of the available grants without the need to reapply if new support schemes are announced.

There are several different grants available, some of which are sector specific. These include:
  • Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed) addendum (covering national restrictions)
    • For the period during November to December 2020 (no closing date confirmed)
    • For the period from 5 January for the first 42 period applications must be received by 31 March 2021
    • For the period from 16 January for the following 44 day period applications must be received by 31 May 2021
  • Local Restrictions Support Grant (Closed)
  • Local Restrictions Support Grant (Sector)
  • Additional Restrictions Grant – applications must be received by 22 March 2021
  • Christmas Support Package – this scheme has now closed
  • Closed business lockdown payment – applications must be received by 31 March 2021.
  • Business Adaptation Grant (grants of up to £1,500 to make businesses Covid safe funded by Essex County Council))
Be aware that the schemes are regularly changing including the payment cycles. We will ensure you receive everything that you are eligible for, but the amounts and payment periods are likely to change regularly.

Who can apply for this funding?

The following criteria will apply to all businesses making an application.

Your business must:
  • be included on the ratings list
  • comply with state aid rules
  • not be insolvent, in administration or having received a striking off notice
  • have been open/trading prior to the most recent lockdown
