Garden waste collections will resume from 25 May

We are pleased to announce that thanks to additional measures, garden waste collections will restart on 25 May and will take place on usual collection days.


Business grant funds available

The Government has introduced new grants in response to the health crisis. Colchester Borough Council is working hard to identify businesses who may be eligible and distribute the funds.


Beach huts in West Mersea

Beach Huts in West Mersea are open, however users must comply with the Government’s guidelines and social distancing rules to protect themselves and others from the spread of coronavirus.

Recycling centres in Essex to reopen

Colchester recycling centre will be open from Monday 18 May for waste and recycling which cannot be stored at home.

Car parks at parks and countryside sites will be open from 13 May

All council-owned car parks are open as usual. Following the Government’s announcement on 10 May, all car parks at our parks and countryside sites will be open to motorists from 13 May.
