Castle Park Playground refurbishment

Consultation dates: 13 June to 12 August 2024

The popular play area in award winning Colchester Castle Park is reaching the end of its life and needs an update. The refurbishment will be funded through external s106 developer contributions. 

To ensure the new playground meets the needs and desires of our community, the council is inviting everyone to participate in a survey to share their ideas for new play equipment. In addition to the survey, workshops will be held to gather feedback from Colchester residents and primary school children. 

Anyone who completes the survey will have the opportunity to be entered into a prize draw to win one of two family passes to Colchester Castle Museum or tickets to Putt in the Park. 

Construction of the new playground is set to begin by the end of September 2025, and the playground is scheduled to open in November 2025.
