Communities Can: A collaborative approach

Our approach has four core principles which act like a compass and guide our work with communities.

• Relationships build a community: Connect, build and link to multiply the capabilities of individuals.
• Asset-based approach: Focus on what is ‘strong not wrong’, so start with strengths and examples of what works, this helps to inspire and motivate people. 
• Citizen-led approach: Focus on what people can do for themselves and what help they need, this involves identifying community builders, organisers and connectors.
• Inclusive approach: Everyone has a voice and opportunities to create space for those who are most marginalised.
