Colchester Car Club now has three pay-as-you-go electric vehicles available 24/7 in the city centre,  

• Located in Sheepen Road, St Peter’s Street and Priory Street Car Park  
• Join for £10 a year and hire from £7.50 an hour 
• Insurance, tax, and maintenance included

Whether it’s an errand, day trip or appointment, it’s a flexible, eco-friendly alternative to owning a first or second car.  

Enterprise Car Club is the official car club provider in Colchester, supported by Colchester City Council, it provides sustainable and cost-effective travel choices for local businesses and residents alike.  

Joining the Colchester Car Club also gives you access to a wider network of 1,500+ pay-as-you-go cars and vans, accessible to members on demand across the UK. These are parked on streets, in car parks and at Enterprise Rent-A-Car branches and can be booked and unlocked via the Enterprise Car Club mobile app.

We are offering a Summertime offer of a £10 join fee and £20 driving credit to the first 100 members who sign up before the 31st August 2025

If you already hold (or have held) car club membership with a different provider, you can join Enterprise Car Club for just £1 in the first year (thereafter £60/year). Once you have submitted your application form, email membership@enterprisecarclub.co.uk to provide proof that you are (or have been) a member of a different car club. We only need to see a booking or membership confirmation email which includes your name and a recent date.

How Enterprise Car Club helps sustainability 

Encouraging residents and businesses to make use of shared transport, such as car clubs, helps reduce the impact of driving on air quality and the environment. Research from shared transport charity 'Collaborative Mobility' in 2024 shows that on average each car club vehicle replaced 20 private cars outside London helping reduce congestion. 100% of car club cars were less than 5 years old and were compliant with low emission zones,  61% were less than 2 years old and 30% were electric positively contributing to reducing air pollution.
