City centre collections

Trade waste bags are especially popular in the city centre area where space is often limited. We will collect recyclable waste in the city centre area on this timetable:

Weekly Timetable for City Centre Business Recycling Collections

Effective from 3 February 2025

Tuesday Tins, Cans and Aerosols: 360l or 240l wheeled bin or 55l container
Glass: 360l or 240l wheeled bin or 55l container
Wednesday Green Trade Bag Paper and Card: Clear Trade Bag
Plastics: Clear Trade Bag
Thursday Tins, Cans and Aerosols: 360l or 240l wheeled bin or 55l container
Glass: 360l or 240l wheeled bin or 55l container
Friday Green Trade Bag Paper and Card: Clear Trade Bag
Plastics: Clear Trade Bag
Food: 180l wheeled bin

Each bag must be presented for collection by 6am on the morning of the scheduled collection.

Contracted Container Service in the City Centre

A contracted recycling container service is also available in the city centre area. These will be collected on the same days as the timetable above:

  • Paper and Card – 1100l, 360l or 240l wheeled bin
  • Plastic – 360l or 240l wheeled bin
  • Tins, cans and aerosols – 360l or 240l wheeled bin or 55l box (City Centre Collection only)
  • Glass – 360l or 240l wheeled bin or 55l box (City Centre Collection only)
