Apply for Local Council Tax Support if you are of working age. If you are of pension age apply using this link www.colchester.gov.uk/claim
Before you start:

This form will ask you questions about your household, income and savings. Be aware that before completing the form you will need:
- Evidence of your National Insurance number.
- Evidence of your partner’s National Insurance number (if you have one).
- If you are claiming Universal Credit, your most recent statement showing any deductions and earnings that are being made from your payment. To view your most recent statement log into yourUniversal Credit Account.
- If you are not claiming Universal Credit, details of all your household income.
- Details of your household savings – this includes any ISA’s, bonds and shares. You will not qualify if your capital is over £6,000.

- Personal Independence Payments
- Disability Living Allowance
- Employment Support Allowance with the Support Component
- Universal Credit with the Limited Capability for Work Element or Work-Related Activity element

- Armed Forces Independence Payments
- Legally certified as blind
