Colchester Borough Council is providing support for residents facing the cost of living crisis.
Council Tax Rebate
Only complete this form if you do not pay your Council Tax by direct debit and you would like the £150 rebate either paid into your bank account or deducted from your Council Tax charge.
If you currently pay by direct debit you do not need to complete this form. We already hold your bank account details so will process the rebate back into your bank account.
In order to complete this form you must be liable to pay the Council Tax charge. If you are liable (or jointly liable) your name will show on the Council Tax bill. If you are not named on the bill as a liable person and believe you are eligible for the rebate please email us at counciltaxrebate@colchester.gov.uk
You will need the following to complete this form:
- Your Council Tax account number
- Your contact details
- Your Council Tax property band. This will show on your bill If you want the rebate paid into your bank account we will also need
- A recent bank statement. This is in order for us to verify your bank details. Please still complete the form if you are unable to upload a bank statement but it may take us slightly longer to process your rebate.
- Your bank account details
- Names of other adult residents in your property
To provide you with this service, we may need to collect some specific, relevant personal information.
