Please note that due to exceptionally high demand Colchester Borough Council is currently out of stock of garden waste sacks. Despite our best efforts to avoid this with manufacturers you may experience a delay in receiving these. Thank you for your patience until we receive the next delivery currently expected by 18 August. Once the garden waste sacks have arrived the home delivery will commence but could be delayed by up to 14 weeks. Therefore to avoid further delay we would encourage you to collect your sacks from the Customer Service Centre, Angel Court or the outlying posts in Tiptree, West Mersea, Wivenhoe and Greenstead (for location details visit the 'Boxes and sacks for recycling' section).
In the meantime, you can either use sacks of a similar size and shape with a handle at the bottom or take your garden waste to one of the recycling centres at Shrub End, West Mersea and Lawford. We would though encourage residents to home compost as much as possible of their garden waste and food scraps.
