Who can we help?

| home owners, private tenants, housing association tenants, Council tenants, private landlords, lodgers, students, people in tied or armed forces accommodation. What problems can we help with? any problems relating to housing including:
- landlord and tenant problems
- tenancy agreements
- rent increases
- harrassment and illegal eviction
- rent arrears/mortgage arrears
- getting repairs done to your home
- relationship breakdown
- domestic violence
- finding accommodation
- social security/welfare benefits

How to make an appointment Come in, or telephone the Housing Advice Centre, Angel Court, High Street, Colchester, tel (01206) 282555 or 282560. Opening hours 9am-5pm, alternatively you can submit your enquiry by clicking on the attached form. If your problem is urgent we will try to see you without an appointment, however you may have to wait to see someone.

What is an appointment like?

| A housing adviser will talk to you in a private booth. You are welcome to bring a friend with you if you wish. You will be asked some questions about your situation and given advice and information.

What should I bring to an appointment?
|
| Tenants - any information which will help us advise you on your problem: for example, tenancy agreement, letters from landlord, Notice to Quit or Court papers, details of your income such as wages, benefits, pensions, national insurance number, details of outgoings. Homeowners/Landlords - any information which help us advise you on your problem: for example, arrears letters, possession summons or court orders, details of your income such as wages, benefits, pensions, national insurance number, details of outstanding large bills or loans, details of outgoings.
