Polling District and Polling Place Review Notice
Notice of Review of Polling Districts, Polling Places and Polling Stations
Notice is hereby given that in accordance with Section 18C of the Representation of the People Act 1983, Colchester City Council is to carry out a review of its polling districts and polling places.
The (Acting) Returning Officer (ARO) for the Parliamentary constituencies of Colchester, Harwich and North Essex, and Witham will comment on the proposals.
The Council welcomes representations concerning either the existing or proposed arrangements from anyone connected to the area. We particularly welcome representations from any elected member, elector registered in the area, or organisation within Colchester. We particularly value any person or body with expertise in different types of accessibility to comment.
Anybody making representations concerning existing polling stations should, if possible, detail alternative places that may be used as polling places.

All representations must be made by no later than Monday 2 June 2025.
Timetable
- 05/05/2025: Formal notice of review & commencement of consultation
- 02/06/2025: End of public consultation period
- 15/10/2025: Final proposals considered by Full Council
- 01/12/2025: Publication of revised register of electors
The outcome of the review will be published by the Council in December and will be available for inspection on the Council's website.
Anybody making representations should be aware that, upon completion of the review, all correspondence and representations received must, by law, also be published.
