Festive Parking Offer Now Available

Colchester Borough Council is once again offering parking for late night Christmas shopping in town for only 50p in its award winning car parks.

Having proved popular in recent years shoppers and visitors can again take advantage of parking for only 50p from 3pm in Britannia, Priory Street, Vineyard Street and the new Napier Road car parks.

With the offer available every Wednesday from 14 November until 19 December it will be the perfect choice for everyone wanting to soak up the best of Colchester's Christmas shopping, events, and entertainment.

The Council's late night shopping parking offer is just one of the many great value parking options in place to suit every visit, both to enjoy the town's festivities and year round.

Parking for just 50p is also available all day Sundays. For trips on Monday to Saturday 4 hours parking is only £2.50 or visitors, workers and shoppers can stay all day for £3.50, thanks to recent price cuts in the award winning St John's multi storey.

Parking for an evening in town on other days to delight at the Christmas lights, pick up gifts at Colchester Castle's market or visit the pantomime will cost just £2 from 3pm in St Mary's and St John's.

Located around the town centre the Council's car parks are only a few minutes stroll from the wealth of shops, restaurants, entertainment venues and attractions. Many also offer parkers easy access from Colchester's main roads and cashless parking with MiPermit, helping to save even more precious time and money in the busy Christmas period.

Colchester Borough Council's Portfolio Holder for Street and Waste Services, Cllr Martin Hunt, said: "We're delighted to offer the ever popular 50p late night shopping parking deal again this year. Working with town centre retailers and other partners everyone spending Christmas in Colchester is sure of a magical time thanks to the host of festive events and money saving offers, including our great value parking available for every visit."
