Cricket for 50+...Howzat!

Date Published: 6 January 2012

Residents of Colchester aged 50+ can enjoy a fun and healthy start to the New Year with a brand new Street20 Cricket course starting at Leisure World Colchester on Monday 16 January.

Offering the opportunity to meet new people, socialise and try a new skill, the 6 week, one and-a-half hourly sessions cost £12.00 for the course. Run by Essex County Cricket, it will provide customers an introduction to Street20 Cricket with experienced instructors.

Street20 Cricket is an indoor game using a taped tennis ball designed to behave in the same way as a cricket ball - without the sting!

Cllr Tina Dopson, Portfolio Holder for Communities and Diversity said:

"This course will offer lots of opportunities such as learning a new skill, meeting new people and of course enjoying an active lifestyle. Leisure World Colchester offers a variety of activities for this particular age group and I hope many will be tempted to try this fun sport out".
