Polling districts review 2011
Polling districts review 2011
Polling districts, polling places and polling stations are permanently kept under review. However the council has a statutory duty to review polling districts and polling places every four years. The previous statutory review took place in 2007. We are now undertaking the 2011 review and want to hear your views.
- A Polling District is an area created by the division of a ward into smaller parts
- A Polling Place is an area in which a polling station is situated
- A Polling Station is a room or building within the polling place.
We are conducting a review of polling districts and polling places in accordance with the requirements of section 18C(1) of the Representation of the People act 1983. Electors within the authority are invited to make comments and the authority would welcome any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability to make any comments on the authority's proposals or any other matter. Any persons or bodies wishing to comment should, if possible, give alternative places that may be used as polling places. Please follow the links below to find out more about the review, the polling district you live in or to comment via our quick survey.
