Pest Control

Colchester Borough Council provides a pest control service for both domestic and non-domestic premises. Our pest control officers will eradicate infestations of pests such as rats, mice and a wide range of insect pests including fleas, wasps, bed bugs and carpet beetles and will advise you on preventing them from reoccurring.

All of our work is guaranteed for 1 calendar month following the treatment.

• If you are currently receiving Council Tax Benefit or Housing Benefit, a reduced fee applies. Otherwise treatments are subject to a charge set by the Council.
   
• We will answer your pest control queries by phone, in person or in writing
   
• We provide a free insect identification service for any insects you find on your premises and advise you about the most appropriate form of treatment.
   
• For an annual fee, we will provide a comprehensive pest control service for most types of business premises.
• Advice is also provided on self-treatments for some of the more common pests that you might encounter, as well as guidance for the best way of tackling other pests - such as mosquitoes in coastal locations.
