Businesses are responsible for around a third of CO2 emissions in Colchester and a recent Colchester Borough Council project has proven the businesses can save 10% of energy just by taking small and simple measures in the workplace. The Government have made it clear that a low carbon economy is the future for the UK.

Funding/Incentives
The Carbon Trust has launched a new green finance deal with Siemans to support provide UK businesses with green equipment finance. Click here to find out more information.
Businesses may be able to benefit from a new Government Incentive Scheme called the Feed in Tariff (FiTs). The scheme has been developed to encourage small scale renewable electricity generation and offers a guaranteed payment for the energy produced. The FiT payments are fixed for 25 years and the levels of income vary depending on the technology used and the size of the installation. Click here to find out more information.
