A mystery date to kill for at Colchester Town Hall

Date issued: 29 January 2018

Trying to find a date for Valentine's Day can be murder. Especially at the Last Dates restaurant, where everyone's a suspect...

On Friday 16 February, 7pm - 10.30pm, Colchester Town Hall is playing host to a dinner with a killer twist. Playing on popular Channel 4 show First Dates, the Valentine's Murder Mystery Massacre asks guests to relax, order a cocktail... and work out whodunnit.

Couples, singles and groups alike can enjoy a two-course meal alongside a performance from the renowned comedy mystery company, Moneypenny Productions. Surrounded by the sumptuously baroque atmosphere of the Victorian Town Hall, guests will feel like true detectives.

As the evening draws to a close, it's up to you to solve the case. Was it the French maître d' with a secret? The barman who wants to know what your poison is? The waitress from hell... or the date with a grudge?

With over 20 years' experience, Moneypenny Productions produce over 250 themed mystery dining events a year. Their unique brand of live, interactive mystery theatre with hilarious consequences has previously been enjoyed by clients from the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and members of the Royal Family to Sony and British Airways.

Cllr Annie Feltham, Portfolio Holder for Commercial Services, said: "Colchester offers a wonderful variety of unique, historic venues, which under the management of Colchester Events Company are proving to be a huge draw for productions.
