Have your say on the Council's future priorities

Date issued: 28 November 2017

Colchester has always been a special place - and Colchester Borough Council is making plans to keep it that way. A key part of this is setting out our priorities for the next three years and looking at how this will affect where the budget is spent.

We're asking you what you think the priorities should be and how your Council Tax should be spent. We hope you will have your say and take part in our consultation to help shape the Borough for the future.

We want to know what you think are the three most important and the three least important services we provide - for example benefits, housing, sport and leisure -  and the areas we influence with key partners, such as health and economic development.

The consultation runs until 31 December 2017.

You can take part in three ways:

Leader of the Council, Councillor Paul Smith, said: "All organisations need a clear direction and a focus for their most important priorities. Our Strategic Plan provides that direction and focus, within the anticipated finances available to the Council over the coming years.

"The Council wants the Strategic Plan to reflect the issues and services that are most important to local people. I would encourage all residents to have their say and let us know what is important to them, in order to help us direct resources to the services that make the most difference to the Borough and our quality of life."
