Residents' Feedback Welcomed during Engagement Consultation at Greenstead Centre

Date Published: 26 October 2017

Following an award of feasibility funding from the Homes and Communities agency, Colchester Borough Council will soon begin engaging with local residents on how they feel The Centre at Greenstead might be improved for the local community.

The aim is to facilitate open discussion to enable residents, community groups and businesses to have their say and share any views on what services and improvements they would like to see and how they would like to use The Centre.

The Centre currently comprises of shops, community facilities, GP surgery and pharmacy, homes and the local housing office.

Greenstead's three Ward Councillors Tina Bourne, Tim Young and Julie Young are all hugely involved with the local community and the wide range of groups that use the Centre's facilities.

Councillor Tim Young, Deputy Leader of Colchester Borough Council said: "As Ward Councillors we are very much in favour of listening to the needs of our residents regarding how The Centre could be improved to meet the needs and wishes of the local community and enhance the area.'

The Council are working with engagement specialists Your Shout to run a number of events to listen to residents and for them to share ideas and views. Newsletters will be delivered at the end of October that detail the project timeline and how residents can get involved and give feedback to Your Shout.
