Game (back) on! Tiptree's Artificial Turf Pitch replacement works are complete

Date published: 15 September 2017

Leisure World has completed its renovation of the all-weather floodlit Artificial Turf Pitch (ATP) at its centre in Tiptree. The work, to replace the entire surface of the ATP has brought the pitch up to modern FIFA Standards.

The pitch reopens, after seven weeks of work, on the 16 September welcoming back clubs, players and providing a great location for sports enthusiasts wanting to try something new. Whether its Cruyff turns or just a lucky nutmeg, the new pitch promises to provide a comfortable playing surface for all ages.

The ATP at Leisure World Tiptree, now laid with a brand new third generation rubber-crumb, is one of Colchester's premier artificial playing surfaces for matches, practice sessions and junior and adult training.

As well as welcoming back clubs that had already been using the pitch, the resurfaced ATP is the perfect venue to for new groups to find a place to play. Whether you think of your work colleagues as non-league benchwarmers or fancy your club as the next Bayern Munich, the pitch is suitable for all ages and abilities at reasonable prices.

Now the works are complete, the pitch will continue to be used by Thurstable School, who share the site with Leisure World Tiptree, during the day in the week. The general public will be able to access the ATP during evenings and weekends. To book a 5-a-side 60-minute session costs from £24.50 or 11-a-side 120-minute session from £62.80. "It is wonderful that this much-loved facility in Tiptree has been renovated to such a high standard. We look forward to welcoming clubs back, knowing they will benefit immensely from improvements that we have made, and hope that new groups will be attracted to try out the facility for themselves."

The ATP is not the only facility available at Leisure World Tiptree.
