Leisure World Highwoods' gym set to strengthen with updated equipment

Date published: 1 September 2017

Colchester's Leisure World Highwoods is getting ready for an overhaul of its gym that will bring a much-anticipated update to its equipment, which will be available to old and new members from 4 September 2017.

The work will see the gym area renovated afresh, with higher specification equipment being installed in both the weights and cardio sections of the gym.

It is part of a busy September for The Gilberd School-based Leisure World Highwoods, as they roll out a new 12-month direct debit membership too. The membership will cost £16.99 per month and include full access to the gym, including the updated equipment, and the range of fitness classes.

Along with badminton courts, Leisure World Highwoods continues to be sporting hub for many local sports groups for all ages.

Cllr Annie Feltham, Colchester Borough Council Portfolio Holder for Commercial Services, said: "At Colchester Borough Council we are committed to improving facilities so as to encourage participation in sports and fitness activities across the Borough.

"We're proud of all our Leisure World centres and are keen to ensure that they continue to provide our members with the best experience possible."

For more information on memberships, to book a court or find out what clubs meet on site, please visit the Leisure World Highwoods website".

Leisure World also has centres in Cowdray Avenue Colchester, Tiptree and the Tennis Centre in Shrub End.
