Colchester Crematorium Open Day

Date issued: 1 August 2017

Colchester Crematorium is inviting visitors to take a behind-the-scenes look at the work of the Bereavement Service, when it holds its annual Open Day on Sunday 6 August 2017, between 10.00am and 3.00pm.

The popular Open Day presents a special opportunity for visitors to have a look around and meet the friendly, knowledgeable staff who will be happy to discuss and answer questions about the crematorium and the cremation process. The event aims to provide reassurances, help allay anxieties and resolve any questions visitors might have about the Crematorium's work. Everyone is welcome, so please just come along on the day and staff will look forward to meeting you.Stay awhile and enjoy the large, beautiful green spaces of the Garden of Remembrance and Cemetery. And, at the end of your tour, you can also enjoy free refreshments.

Cllr Beverley Oxford, Portfolio Holder for Customers, said: "The Crematorium Open Day provides a marvellous opportunity for visitors to meet staff and understand the indispensable work that takes place behind the scenes in the Bereavement Service.

"I am enormously proud of the work of the Bereavement Service, which I know is delivered by staff of the highest calibre with dedication, care and compassion."
