Committees

The Liberal Democrat, Labour and Independent Groups currently form a joint administration and the Liberal Democrats' Deputy Group Leader Councillor Anne Turrell is the Leader of the Council.

The Council Leader is responsible for appointing the Cabinet, which deals with executive functions.  In practice many of the duties and powers of the Cabinet have been delegated to individual members of the Cabinet (also known as Portfolio Holders) and to officers so that all day to day decision making is undertaken either by an officer or the relevant Portfolio Holder.
